The Union Must Be Preserved. One Nation Under God.

What have we become as a nation?  Are we heading in the right direction?

Have we become so complacent of our position and our success that we forgot our history and our identity of a nation who prays?  Let us be reminded by the words of Abraham Lincoln:

“We have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand, which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us.”

George Washington swears on the Bible when he took office, and did not forget his oath because he believed:

“It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.”

“The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which heaven itself has ordained.”

James Madison did not complicate the rule of law because down from the basic law of the land he acknowledged God’s law.

“We have staked the whole future of American civilization not on the power of government, far from it. We have staked the whole of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves according to the commandments of God. The future and success of America is not in this Constitution, but in the laws of God upon which this Constitution is founded.”

And being a citizen of America we are first citizen of God as James Monroe quoted:

“Before any man can be considered as a member of civil society, he must be considered as a subject of the Governor of the Universe. And to the same Divine Author of every good and perfect gift we are indebted for all those privileges and advantages, religious as well as civil, which are so richly enjoyed in this favored land.”

Do you know Jimmy Carter, was one with his faith and his service to country?

“You can’t divorce religious belief and public service. I’ve never detected any conflict between God’s will and my political duty. If you violate one, you violate the other.”

Have we consulted God before making major decisions for our country?  Andrew Jackson did:

“Finally, it is my most fervent prayer to that Almighty Being before whom I now stand, and who has kept us in His hands from the infancy of our Republic unto the present day, that He will so overrule all my intentions and actions and inspire the hearts of my fellow-citizens that we may be preserved from dangers of all kinds and continue forever a united and happy people.”

Do you know your human rights come from God?  Here’s from John F. Kennedy:

“The rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God.”

How come the majority is losing the voice, the rights, and the freedom --- The freedom that Thomas Jefferson reassured citizens of America?

"Almighty God hath created the mind free. All attempts to influence it by temporal punishments or burthens...are a departure from the plan of the holy Author of our religion...No man shall be compelled to frequent or support religious worship or ministry or shall otherwise suffer on account of his religious opinions or belief, but all men shall be free to profess and by argument to maintain, their opinions in matters of religion. I know but one code of morality for men whether acting singly or collectively."

So as Franklin Delano Roosevelt, his words were set on stone at his memorial:
freedom to worship. FDR.

"Freedom of speech...Freedom of worship...Freedom from want...Freedom from fear."

If Andrew Jackson is questioned about his Christian values today, he will tell you to torment in hell:

“To put such damned rascals as you are in, that oppose and vilify the Christian religion!”

It was the dream of Ronald Reagan that we continue to be a Nation under God, and he had a fair warning if we don’t.

“If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

Let us not doubt our Christian values and our God-given identity because Franklin Delano Roosevelt said:

"The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move forward with strong and active faith."

I thank God for the wisdom of our US presidents that made America beautiful and strong.

Yes! Let's move forward with strong and active faith:
The Union must and shall be Preserved. One Nation Under God.

God bless America!
